The Assiniboia Kinettes Adopt-a-family program assists local individuals, couples or families by matching them with program donors who wish to brighten the lives of households in need within our community and surrounding area during the holidays.
This program will provide selected families with gifts and necessities from the household’s wish list.

Getting help - Details
To be considered to receive help for the holidays, the following qualifications would need to be met:
• Current resident in Assiniboia, Bengough, Coronach, Gravelbourg, Glentworth, Kincaid, Lafleche, Limerick, Mossbank, Mankota, Rockglen, Willow Bunch, Wood Mountain or their surrounding areas.
• Demonstrated household need based on provided details.
• Agreement to pick up gifts during the designated period and provide a thank you card for donors or supporters.
Deadline to apply or nominate is November 15, 2025. Wish list submissions must be submitted no later than November 22, 2025.

Giving help - Details
If you are interested in adopting a family for the holidays, you would be matched with a family by the Assiniboia Kinettes based on your budget.
If you’d prefer to make a financial contribution for the Assiniboia Kinettes to adopt a family on your behalf, we certainly welcome any offered support.
In the event that there are more supporters than families to help, any additional funds would be donated to the Moose Jaw Transition House or the Assiniboia Salvation Army Food Bank to assist with the purchase of products for their Christmas Hampers or to fill their shelves.

Additional Information:
- All nominees and/or applicants will be contacted by phone by a member of the Kinette Club of Assiniboia. Recipient information and questionnaires remain private, viewable only by the Adopt-a-family committee. We do not post any recipient information on our website or social media pages without express written consent.
- Any applicant or nominee may decide that they do not wish to participate and are welcome to decline the offer of support at the time it is offered. There is no obligation to participate if you do not wish to. We do, however, expect recipients who have accepted the assistance to be co-operative with the Supporter.
- The Kinette Club of Assiniboia matches applicants and nominees with a Supporter who has requested and committed to providing some assistance to the Recipient and their household. The Recipient's contact and basic information is shared with the Supporter, however the Supporter will need to contact the Recipient to get more information.
